Flying out to a job yesterday morning we passed over the junction or confluence of two great rivers. The Murray River and the Darling River. Both flowing at high levels. Light wasn’t playing the game and we had a whole lotta rubbish in the air from an inversion layer but couldn’t resist snapping this shot. Darling River water a dirty pale brown colour mixing with almost black Murray River flood water.

As water from Darling River flows into The River Murray the contrast in their colours is dramatic. It takes only a couple of bends in the river before water mixes up and you lose the distinction between the two lots of water with such vastly different origins.
